Women in Love (2011)

This is what I call squeaky bum time. A few days to go before transmission of the first instalment of my two-part version of DH Lawrence's Women In Love.
Some press coverage has started to emerge and plenty more will be lined up behind it. Not to mention the opinions of numerous academics and Lawrence experts the world over.

Women in Love is a two-part television adaptation for BBC Television directed by William Ivory combining two works by D. H. Lawrence, namely his 1915 novel The Rainbow and his 1920 novel Women in Love. A strong cast headed by Saskia Reeves, Rachael Stirling and Rosamund Pike , but also Rory Kinnear, Joseph Mawle and Ben Daniels.

Instead of death in the Tyrolean Alps, Ivory sets the final scenes in South African diamond mines and desert sands where Gerald meets his demise. Other cast members included as Will Brangwen.

The series was just known as Women in Love and it was first transmitted on BBC Four on 24 and 31 March 2011.
